ADDISON’S DISEASE

SUMMARY; Addison’s Disease is a hypofunction of the Adrenal Glands in the body. My EAV work has revealed this disturbance in adult dogs occurs on both the physical organ level as well as the electromagnetic energy fields of the Adrenal Glands and other related structures. Successful treatment requires balancing and strengthening both levels.

Medical Definition of Addison’s Disease: Hypofunction of the adrenal glands producing a disease characterized by a bronzelike pigmentation of the skin, severe prostration, progressive anemia, low blood pressure, diarrhea and digestive disturbances; it is usually fatal.

PHYSICAL LEVEL:

Clinical findings in dogs with adrenal insufficiency are often quite similar to acute renal disorders, gastrointestinal diseases and must be differentiated.

Addison’s Disease (A.D.) is most commonly seen in dogs less than 5 years of age but as early as 12 weeks of age. The usual clinical signs are progressive muscular weakness, depression, inappetence and vomiting.

The most common lesion is atrophy of the adrenal cortex, with evidence suggesting autoimmune reaction involved. Other lesions occasionally seen are areas of necrosis (infarction) of the adrenal cortex and hemorrhage with septicemia.

An insufficiency of adrenal cortical steroids causes an increased excretion of sodium chloride in the urine which results in lower than normal blood levels of sodium and chlorides. This further leads to increased excretion of water by the kidney with dehydration, concentration of the blood, potassium electrolytes being pulled from the musculoskeletal cells with severe weakening resulting. Advanced cases develop bradycardia, (slow heart rate) severe kidney collapse with uremia, GI disturbances with vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Blood tests show an elevated hematocrit, relative increase of lymphocytes and eosinophils. There are two disease phases: chronic, which make take months to develop with chronic vomiting and diarrhea, which if not treated will go into the acute of shock and death.

Orthodox Treatment

Treatment consists of supplying the deficient steroids (cortisol sodium succinate ), correction of dehydration and electrolytes:  potassium, sodium, chlorides and water by intravenous injection and 5 % Dextrose in Saline drip. Mineralocorticoids ( desoxycorticosterone acetate in oil or DOCA), to stimulate balancing of electrolytes is also given. Following control of the acute adrenal crisis, maintenance therapy must be established and is necessary for life, with administration of steroids and DOCA, monitoring frequently with monthly blood tests for blood sugar, potassium, sodium, and chlorides are necessary for adjusting dosages of both mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Many animal owners are incapable of continuing this burden on their emotions and finances and opt for euthanasia.

Holistic Energetic Therapy

1. It is necessary to treat the imbalances in the acupuncture energy flow meridians of the endocrine glands (adrenal, pituitary, thyroid and sexual glands), digestive organs,  (stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine and colon) and immune system (thymus, spleen and bone marrow) as well as kidneys. This is done with acupuncture treatments, homeopathy, color energy therapy, (usually red, which is the chakra where the adrenal glands are located, but sometimes yellow if the liver and GI tract is most disturbed), quartz crystal charging of the acupuncture points, as well as charging the energy of the food and water consumed. This is done while there is a weaning away of the orthodox treatment.
2. I have found  one must Root out the CAUSE of this disease. This involves the three D’s:

Diet- toxins deposited in the endocrine system via the gastrointestinal route from contaminating chemicals in our food and water: pesticides, heavy metals, PCB’s etc. as well as chemicals added by pet food manufacturers: sugars, carcinogenic preservative Ethoxyquin(not always on the label but its there somewhere in the food chain from preserving animal meats and plant/animal fats), petroleum analine food dyes and the destructive high carbohydrate to protein ratios in kibbled dry foods. So a very important part of the treatment is to change the diet to home made natural with supplements outlined in my newsletter #4. It also requires detoxification of the bottled spring water – (never give your pet tap water!!!!), and the fresh raw foods because all are polluted with heavy metals – especially aluminum and mercury. I have found the color combinations of blue over green, absorbs the noxious energies of the chemicals and changes the energies to non noxious. This is outlined in my newsletter #7.

Detox: chemical toxins are removed by sequential detoxing with  homeopathic nosodes of these chemicals, starting from most recent lay down to the earliest in life’s exposures. One must also support the involved sick organs with homeopathic Sarcodes. Sarcodes are german made homeopathies of normal healthy organs. See my Detox and Support Program.  Add to these chemical diet toxins,  past vaccinations of Dog Vaccines and Rabies given. I use the same Detox nosode to strengthen the EMF to keep the animal healthy and strong. Past antibiotic drugs are also detoxed.

This is how I treat Addisons’s Disease, but because it is such a serious disease it requires consultation on  a case by case basis.
